Tribute to my father’s service in WWII page 2 of a 2 page spread in my Family Storybook

Tribute to my fathers service in WWII - Page 004

This is page 2 of the tribute to my father’s service in WWII.  He received a letter of recognition for his service from the President of the United States.  We as children did not know this existed until we were going through items after the death of our mother.

The element of the service men above the photos I made myself in Storybook. I found the photo I wanted, brought it into Storybook filled it with a gray color, decreased the opacity to my liking and saved it to My Stuff folder in placed it on the page to my satisfaction.

  1. Isn't it fun to find things of our father’s service? After my dad passed away 5 years ago mom and I put together a life history of him. I found out he was a POW during WWII. I didn't know this. He was only a POW for about 2 weeks in Japan then the occupation started and he served as a photographer and was stationed in the same POW camp but this time as a photographer free to come and go.

As I was discussing this with my son he knew all about it ~ then I realized that my grandkids also knew more about my Vietnam experiences than my kids do. It just takes a while before you can talk about some things.
